Oh, Phillips… Denard accounted for over 300 yards total offense and two touchdowns. That doesn’t really equate to “shutting him down.” Your team capitalized on three of his mistakes and that’s what killed us (well that and bad angles by our safeties/linebackers on two plays). MSU played a good game but to say you stopped Denard is completely false. You’re better than this comment. I’ll let it slide because I know you’re happy about the win - and because I like you. MSU played a good game and executed better than we did. End of story.
Now, I have a couple more rants to get out about Sparty fans as a whole. This is the last you’ll hear about this but I have to say it.

Here’s why MSU and will forever be “Little Brother.” Even in victory, you still look to Michigan fans and expect something from them… some sort of brotherly pat on the back for a good game. You won, isn’t that enough satisfaction in and of itself? It’s like MSU fans needs to be validated by the fact that Michigan fans are upset. Do you get how screwed up that is? Care about your team, be happy in victory but there is no need to look to another fan base to gauge that happiness. I can guarantee when we beat Notre Dame not one Wolverine looked to South Bend and said “I can’t hear you guys!” (Something I saw like 4 times on Facebook yesterday). Or, if we ever beat Ohio State again, you’ll be hard-pressed to find one of us asking Ohio State fans to say something nice about our team’s win. We are happy for OUR team winning but there is some overarching theme with Spartans where they need to be told by Michigan fans that they have a good team/game.

*Breath* And…

This whole “Walmart Wolverine” this is out of control. Sparty, I know you came up with an alliteration that contains Wolverine and are really proud of that. But just because someone didn’t attend the school doesn’t mean they are automatically disallowed from cheering for said school. If they are walking through the gate at Michigan Stadium, they are as much a part of the school as I am at that point. Their voice is just as loud as mine. It’s like saying someone in New York or Chicago can’t cheer for the Lions because they don’t live here. It’s asinine. If you’re a fan, you’re a fan. There aren’t qualifiers on fandom. And look, it’s not our fault we win so often that people outside of those who pay to go to school here are fans. In fact, some might say that’s a good thing. Win some more and maybe you’ll see what it’s like one day.

Ok. Phew, I feel better.
