At SeaTac, unshowered, unshaven and waiting to get on my flight back to Detroit.
My friend Justin, who has been my friend for well over 20 years, got married. I finally got to meet his wife and their adorable baby daughter in person. We also caught a Sounders game, got kicked out of two bars and played some bocce at a winery.
On top of all that, I got to do those things with the absolute best group of guys I will ever know. They wore me out, sure, but damn, do I love those guys. I lucked out in life to have these seven best friends. We live all over the world now - Seattle, Montana, Detroit, Guatemala, Chicago, Jacksonville - but that hasn’t stopped us from keeping in touch and continuing to build our friendship.
Both of Justin’s parents told me this weekend it was amazing to see us all grown up and I have to agree. It seems like just the other day we were playing street hockey pick up games during our summer vacation from 4th grade.
Anyways, I’m one lucky dude and to say I had a great weekend would be an understatement.
