Thoughts about last night’s Eminem and Jay-Z concert:
- Concerts are way better when you actually know songs they sing. I didn’t know 75% of Jay-Z’s songs and maybe 30% of Em’s. Still a great show though.
- I’m pretty sure I couldn’t pass a drug test right now even though I haven’t touched anything since college.
- There were guest appearances by Young Jeezy, Trick Trick, D12, Drake, 50 Cent and B.O.B., but we lost our shit when Dr. Dre came out. When Em and Dre did “Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang” I felt old. The kids in front of us didn’t even know the words… Ugh.
- Also, to those drunken/stoned messes in front of us, Eminem’s encore song was “Lose Yourself.” You probably won’t remember that this morning.
- You have to get a massive ego when playing a concert like that.
- My “damn hands” are up! Sing the song will you?!
- 50 Cent and his crew must be really nice guys. They knew it was hot so they were constantly fanning the first couple rows of concertgoers with their right arms.
- Downtown was a complete clusterfuck last night. Not only were there 80,000 at this concert, but the Lions had their last preseason game at the same time, as well as the Jazzfest going on… which meant Woodward was completely shut down. Traffic was, as they say, awful.
