Passion Pit - To Kingdom Come

I just gave Manners it’s first listen and it’s a lot less “poppy” than I expected. When I want some dance tunes, I flip to Chunk of Change and just bounce to the beats. This isn’t the same sort of record. Of the two songs everyone has heard, “The Reeling” and “Moth’s Wings”, the album is more like the latter which completely surprised me. It feels much more restrained - mature even - than Chunk of Change.

That’s not to say the album is a disappointment by any means. In fact, I will probably be spinning it all summer. It’s just different than I expected and, the more I think about it, that’s a good thing.
